Monthly ʻŌlelo Noʻeau - August

ʻŌlelo Noʻeau are Hawaiian proverbs that often offer wisdom for a person to live by. The ones chosen are intended to apply particularly to your learning of the Hawaiian language in hopes to keep up your motivation.

This month's proverb is simple! Still, I'll provide a breakdown for your understanding.

- ʻohi = To gather, collect, pick, harvest, reap

- Manu = Bird

- o = of

- Ao = Dawn, daylight, day

All together:

The bird of the day reaps.

Note:

Similar to The early bird gets the worm, but focuses more on work ethic.
