Each lesson of the Kulāiwi Hawaiian language learning series offers a small video that's filmed completely in Hawaiian. They feature typical activities, ranging from simple outings, like going to the movies, to significant events, like graduating high school. They do well in involving a variety of Hawaiian place names, foods, and relationships, while also maintaining normal, everyday conversations.
Since the show, and therefore the vignettes, are rather old, the audio quality is poor, so it's hard to hear and benefit from the dialogue. Now, these vignettes have Hawaiian subtitles so that you can follow along and gain more from what you could have previously!
You can view each vignette individually, or watch the full-length video that showcases all 18 shorts continuously - all with subtitles!
